At Political Education For Students, we are passionate about enthusing, engaging and educating young people about politics, citizenship, government and democracy. We want students to understand how the UK political system works, as well as that of the United States, and to appreciate the importance of a range of political issues both at home and abroad. We specialise in role-playing simulation exercises that get students immersed in a range of debates and situations where they not only develop their political literacy, but also a number of other academic and developmental skills.
James came into my school to deliver his Government For A Day workshop to three groups of pupils (10 x KS3, 10 x KS4 and 10 x KS5). Each group formed their own cabinet and were responsible for making decisions on how to spend the country's money. James also covered lots more teaching besides, such as electoral systems and procedures once a party comes to power. I cannot recommend this workshop and James enough - our pupils were so passionate and engaged throughout, and it has helped cover some of the elements of Citizenship teaching, plus fostered Personal Development. I had decided within a few minutes of the workshop starting that I would be inviting James in again next year and have recommended him to our local PSHE Leads network. A lot of the pupils involved were Pupil Premium recipients - this workshop is an excellent use of funding. James also produced a mini version of the workshop in lesson plan format which I used with Y13, also enthusiastically received. Political Education For Students does a range of nine workshops and I'm looking forward to booking more in!

I can highly recommend James and Political Education for Students workshops. James delivered a “Government for the Day” session to some of our Year 12s and it was universally praised by the students. It was thought provoking, promoted collaboration, and gave them a well pitched understanding of the complexities of the UK political scene. We will definitely be welcoming him back to school in the coming years to deliver some more workshops.

Our Year 7 & 8 children loved your ‘UN for a Day’ full day workshop today. We will definitely be introducing more of your workshops, what a fun and engaging way to deliver such important content and to develop vital skills. I am sure the dialogue, negotiating and healthy debate will continue this morning….
