The Kids That Rock Guitar Workshop is designed to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and incorporates many musical elements within the National Curriculum for key stage 2.

A fresh, simple and fun way for the whole class to learn how to play guitar together. Step by step, we can learn to play along to modern pop and classic rock music that children can relate to. Every pupil will play a part, regardless of ability, resulting in the whole class playing together as a band. Get the school camera ready!

Pupils will find they can usually produce an acceptable sound on a guitar relatively quickly, without having to put in hours of practise. This makes our workshops accessible to pupils of all abilities.

Up to 40 guitars can be supplied for the day, plenty for everyone – even teachers!
One session will result in the whole class performing together. Follow on sessions can progress pupils skills further.

Pupils can explore different genres of music, including: Classical, Blues, Reggae, Rock & Roll, Jazz, Classic Rock and Pop.

Learn about musical terms such as: tempo, pitch, and get creative with composition.

Many options to suit your school (1 hour per class taster sessions or choose a topic for one class the whole day)

Based in the Midlands, but will travel to most of the UK.

“Matt gives the children a brilliant taste of learning an instrument in a way that enthuses and motivates them. He does this in a relevant way, by using current music which the children can engage with. I would definitely recommend his workshops.” Louise Anderson (Music Subject Lead, Cranberry Academy)

“A great afternoon, I had never played the guitar before. It was all explained simply, with easy to follow instructions. Can we do this every Friday please?” Mrs Crookston (SEN Teacher, Pikemere Primary School)
