The interactive introductory talk covers the expanding British Empire and Britain’s role in developing trade around the world in Victoria’s long reign.

Norwich High School for Girls – “Super day! - really enjoyed by the children. Plenty of artefacts.”

This is followed by activities for the rest of the morning.

VICTORIAN QUIZ which covers a wide spectrum of Victorian life and Social change

VICTORIAN SCHOOL LESSON with Mrs. Rodgers.

THE COMING OF THE RAILWAYS. The beginnings of our modern world and how the railways changed ordinary people’s lives with Mr. Winchurch.

In the afternoon the children will prepare entertainments and try Victorian games in preparation for a visit from Queen Victoria, to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee.

This workshop is led by Richard and Beverley Bowring; they are WW2 and Victorian era enthusiasts and have been working in schools and museums for the last 5 years. They have also appeared in many historical documentaries and films.
