Shakespeare Schools Foundation (SSF) have over 15 years experience delivering inspiring workshops to UK schools. We are a leading cultural education charity that runs the world’s largest youth drama festival, working with 1000 schools and 30,000 young people every year, in professional theatres up and down the country.

Key Stage 2 (Second Level in Scotland) is the perfect time to introduce your young people to Shakespeare, and our approach ensures this early encounter is fun and accessible.

PRIMARY SHAKESPEARE 1 - based on any Shakespeare play

In our Primary workshop pupils will engage actively with Shakespeare’s plays as exciting stories, with fascinating characters who speak in expressive and beautiful ways. Examples of content include creating a freeze framed performance of your chosen play, hot-seating characters and exploring different ways of delivering famous Shakespeare lines

This workshop supports the National Curriculum programme of study for English at Key Stage 2.

PRIMARY SHAKESPEARE 2 - Play in a Day

In this thrilling Primary workshop, pupils will investigate the plot and characters of a Shakespeare play, building to a whole group performance piece based on your chosen play.

This workshop supports the National Curriculum programme of study for English at Key Stage 2

“The student workshop created much excitement and developed so much confidence amongst all the students. They came back with a real boost of ideas and energy.” Teacher, Birmingham
