The Yorkshire Planetarium is a mobile industrial unit with disabled wheelchair access. It will fit 30 Year 6 students and teachers, or 25 adults. The owner, Kevin Read, has a degree in astro-physics and planetary science and is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. He has over twenty years of experience in space sciences. Yorkshire and parts of surrounding counties are covered. The National Curriculum subjects are covered and a lot more with material to cover all age groups from Reception classes to A-level. Current DBS and risk assessments are provided. Work practices are very flexible and separate question and answer sessions are encouraged from Year 4 upwards to maximise the learning experience. The aim is to provide impact for all year groups along with an immersive experience that will enthuse and create a sense of wonder.
