Engaging young children with science

The founder of Working Science, Dr Gareth Francis, is a PhD scientist with a mission to engage and excite primary school children to give them a love of the subject before they reach secondary school. He believes that making science fun for primary age children is the key to embedding a lasting love of the subject.

Our workshops include the topics Electricity, Light, Space, Perfume Making, Sounds and Forces. We are also able to offer a day of Sensory Science to Special Schools.
If needed, we can help non-science trained primary teachers to get to grips with the subject and become comfortable with some of the more complicated concepts with a day of CPD training.

To further this aim, we provide parents with science parties and local schools with after-school science clubs, holiday workshops and we hire exciting science equipment (like rocket making equipment) to primary schools to enable them to make their teaching of science as intriguing and memorable as possible.
