KS2 PREHISTORIC WORLD
A PANORAMIC GLIMPSE OF EVERYTHING PRE-HISTORIC

Graham Woollard will lead your students on an exciting geological and palaeontological adventure from the Earth's primordial beginning to the emergence of modern man.
East Court Independent School, Essex.

I just wanted to say how thrilled we all are at Eastcourt with Graham’s fabulous workshops. Last year he came on the first day of our OFSTED inspection and the inspector gave very positive feedback on Graham’s presentation, calling it “impressive”. You provide a brilliant service for schools and can count me as one of your biggest fans and supporters.

The morning session consists of group investigation where your students will explore numerous displays and wonderful scale models of the world in various stages of evolution, Dinosaur models and plus high grade fossil specimens, which, of course the children get touch and handle. This is interspersed with interactive discussions on the following sub-topics-:

THE EARTH'S FORMATION - From spinning gas cloud to a rocky core.
TIME LINE - bacteria to walking fish to early humans.
ROCKS - What is a Rock?
DINOSAURS - The life and times of T.Rex, Velociraptor and Triceratops.
EARLY MAN - The Mammoth hunters and their Stone Tools.

The afternoon session starts with an interactive group discussion on the EARTH'S SPECTACULAR FOSSIL TREASURES, followed by:
FOSSILS.....What are they and how are they made.
FOSSIL HUNTING - Equipment used by Graham to excavate fossils.
This is followed by hands on examination of some exceptional fossil specimens and the opportunity for students to select and draw fossils of their choice.

This workshop can cater for up to 60 children.

St Bartholomew’s Primary, Coventry
Graham was a pleasure to work with. The objects he brought with him were of a very high standard and there was a good quantity of them. Everyone learnt something and had a day to remember.

To gain maximum educational advantage from a visit by Graham, he needs a large ground-floor display area such as an assembly hall with easy access and off-road parking. Many of Graham’s exhibits are large and require specialist handling, which entails a long set-up period.
