Spoons Workshops are accessible for all ages and help to develop lots of skills including rhythm, co-ordination, fine motor skills, listening, copying, performance, teamwork, discipline and creativity. They're great fun to play and we all have them in our homes, so there's no need to go out and buy expensive instruments!

Jo will provide an assortment of spoons (metal, wooden, plastic and joined-up ones for younger children and anyone having difficulty with the grip) and teach a variety of techniques and rhythms, often incorporating a well-known tune or song.
The workshops are often accompanied by the fantastic fiddler, Linda Game. Here's an informal video with Linda, giving an insight into the basics of spoon playing and the workshops -https://youtu.be/9ERU7Vl4LGM. Workshops are also run without accompaniment if the budget is tight.

Sessions usually run throughout the day a class at a time, often starting the day with a demonstration/introduction in an assembly. At the end of the day, There's the option of a sharing assembly where some of the classes perform what they have learnt to the rest of school/parents.
